Not at all–in fact, becoming Thor is preventing her cancer treatment from working properly, so in taking on the responsibility of becoming Thor, she’s actually endangering her chances of recovery.
She doesn’t trust the potential price of the Magic to heal her. But she knows the price of welding Mjolnir.
But yes, that might well be a plot point at some point, that she’s endangering herself with Magic, why not mitigate that with more Magic.
