Anonymous asked: Tom, I get the Iron Man/Dr Strange high-five page. It just really doesn't work in comics. especially when its an entire page. 1 page out of 20, that I paid $5 for. It really makes one rethink wasting money on stuff like this.

Sorry you feel that way, but it’s all a part of the reading experience, all a part of the story. If I thought the joke was worthwhile, I wouldn’t hesitate a minute to extend that sequence to five pages.

The joke felt very Ultimate Spider-Man, which is not what I’d expect from Tony, but exactly what I’d expect from Bendis.

And to be fair, what I’d expect from Gillen-Tony is radically different from what I’d expect from Hickman-Tony, so why shouldn’t Bendis-Tony be different again? Personally, I like slightly younger sillier Tony, although it does put him a bit too close to Corporate Peter.
