teaberryblue asked: You're doing a fine job with these weirdo diversity asks, dude. The idea that casting a black actor as Johnny is a problem is ludicrous enough, but why are people even bringing Spidey into this? Nobody replaced Peter Parker a la that bizarro "MARVEL REPLACES BREVOORT" post. If they can't tell the names Peter and Miles apart, they may need an eye checkup. And even if we WERE talking about Peter, I could give a damn what his skin color is. His story isn't especially defined by his ethnicity.
But Thor is a really bad argument, because between Don, Erik and Jake, the name and aspect of Thor has been passed on all the time. The only reason you take issue with this one is pronouns. This is all pretty much true.
In my analogy, I made no reference to race or even gender. I didn’t even refer to Peter Parker and Miles so you’re the one that obviously has to get your eyes checked. In fact, I have no issue with what has been done in the movies as those characters (Human Torch and Heimdall are still those characters). What I described in my post is precisely what happened with Thor. I just find it insane that Marvel is replacing so many of their characters. If you like all of these radical changes, fine. Not all of us do.
